He researches and teaches how organisations bring AI into their work while people stay in charge: digital transformation, human-centred design, and humans and AI. - [Every task can be AI-supported](https://uebernickel.com/writing/every-task-can-be-ai-supported.md): Almost every task can now be AI-supported. A matrix of generation effort and verification effort shows how, and how much human oversight each form of support needs: Autopilot, Sign-Off, Proof Trail, Co-Creation, and Human only by choice. - [Publications](https://uebernickel.com/publications.md): Selected publications by Falk Uebernickel: journal articles, conference papers and books on digital transformation, human-centred design and humans and AI, plus research collaborations with MIT and Stanford. - [Executive Education](https://uebernickel.com/executive-education.md): Executive seminars, custom programmes, talks and university teaching by Falk Uebernickel on AI leadership, digital transformation and design thinking. - [CV](https://uebernickel.com/cv.md): Curriculum vitae of Falk Uebernickel: positions at the University of St.Gallen, ZHAW and the Hasso Plattner Institute, research, awards and education. - [Writing](https://uebernickel.com/writing.md): Essays and working notes by Falk Uebernickel on AI at work, human oversight and human-centred design. - [Imprint and privacy](https://uebernickel.com/imprint.md): Imprint and privacy notice for the personal website of Falk Uebernickel, responsible under Swiss law. - [Humans don’t leave the loop](https://uebernickel.com/writing/humans-dont-leave-the-loop.md): “Human in the loop” says whether people oversee AI, not on which level. Four levels of oversight (work, output, verification, rules) show where the accountable expert stands as agents take over the work and the checking. - [Synthetic personas: a thinking tool, not a respondent](https://uebernickel.com/writing/synthetic-personas.md): What AI customers are good for, where they fail, and four rules before you trust one. A preregistered experiment with 116,570 answers from five language models shows that where a model knows the answer its typical answer does not move with an anchor, and that in the most extreme case 1,198 different profiles give the same number 1,171 times. ## Downloads - [Every task can be AI-supported (PDF working note)](https://uebernickel.com/papers/Uebernickel_2026_Every-task-can-be-AI-supported.pdf): the essay as a 3-page working note with full references. ## Optional - [Full site as one Markdown file](https://uebernickel.com/llms-full.txt)
